offers shopping and a holiday atmosphere. Any tourist will be captivated
when visiting

Victoria and Alfred Waterfront where
locals and tourists alike are entertained by buskers, and can choose from
a variety of sidewalk cafe’s or formal restaurants. As this is a working
harbour, there is never a dull moment with boats in all shapes and sizes
comming and going, and
seals drifting around in the harbour to great delight of the observers.
Highlights worth visiting when you are in the
City are
Robben
Island, a World Heritage Site where Nelson Mandela spent part of his
prison sentence. A cable car ride up Table Mountain which offers a
marvellous view over Cape Town and the surrounding coast line. A day trip
to the most South Western tip of the African continent "where two oceans
meet". Set in the "Cape

a string along
the coast line, should you have the inclination you can even swim with the

famous and a visit to some of the the

is a highlight for lovers of good food and wine. Franschhoek, Stellenbosch
and Paarl are long time favourites and provide the
opportunity for cellar tours and wine tastings.
Spring (September - November):
The climate is mild with pleasant
temperatures as the days grow longer. The winter rains are over and flowers
bloom everywhere. The world renown show of wild flowers which covers large
parts of the Western Cape, draws thousands of visitors annually . Futhermore
the season is perfect for whale watching, when the Southern Right Whales
come close to the
shores to give birth and nurse their calves.
Summer (December - March):
Spring and summer
are the perfect times to visit Cape Town. Temperature can be high,
however, a pleasant wind from the Atlantic Ocean secures a constant cooling
effect and maintains the relative low humidity.
The perfect white
beaches, which surround Cape Town are tempting, however, as the sun is very strong
and the air is generally extremely clean, it is important to remember
a
hat and sunscreen with a high sun protection factor.
