Concept:
To give diabetics and their families the opportunity to spend independant holidays in South Africa within secure circumstances supervised by a qualified nurse and to participate in Safari and tours in the company of other similar people.
To liase between an approved network of endocrinologists and private hospitals in case of an emergency.
To secure the right composition of the meals, all guests will be served diabetic food according to guidelines.
To give first aid in case of hypoglycæmi and other situations.
To give professional support and help around the clock, should an acute illness arise
Travel Arrangement:
Our aim is to allow visitors freedom from the traditional "package tour." However, all arrangements will be taken care of and any information, which you may require during your visit, will be made available. Day trips to various places of interest have been arranged, but should you wish to do a self-drive you will not be precluded from the services offered. The nurse will be contactable 24 hrs and will accompany arranged day tours unless required elsewhere.
Participants are to arrange their own flight transport to/from South Africa. Included in your tours will be: Airport transfer, hotel accommodation, breakfasts and specified meals, and probably the most essential: we will take care of all medical backup locally and we undertake to liase with a medical treatment team in your home country should you require such.
A maximum of 14 guests will be invited so as to ensure personalised care and attention.
Excursions take place at a pleasant pace, and we have planned "free-hours" for relaxation and simply " being on vacation."
